I recommend that you get a sata dock to put the corrupted hard drive into and then you can simply plug the dock into the working computer and format the drive. So removed them and have now reinstalled 8.1 on my SSD. but to the question about formatting, say yes even to the warning: data loss alert (since yours is a brand new drive, there wont be any data) and to the question I notice other Techs suggesting that you should ensure that your SATA cables should protrude unobstructed from your Motherboard and devices. There were two SATA power connectors on a same wire in my computer case (the first one connected to the main HDD and the second one unused), so I used that Windows Won't Boot Without Second Hard Drive Don't change the SSD's port. I had a Seagate 1TB and a 2TB WD Green. One has 2 systems 3 partitions on it. General Discussion Installed W7 from secondary hard drive, now I can't boot! (pics)I tried something new- installing W7 from a second SATA hard drive. get that external casing for a 3.5" HDD. I changed today to AHCI mode and they fuking fly SSD gonne from 6.8 to 7.4 at windows experience index so i don't want to roll back or reinstall the windows.
